Back-Up + Save Your Photos on External Hard Drives

Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. I think it’s time for a little spring cleaning! Tech Style.
As a Virgo having an organized workspace is crucial to my efficiency. However, one’s messy computer screen is another’s organized chaos. Either way, an overstuffed computer will slow down your computer's speed.
Being a photographer, I have tons and tons, years and years, of RAW photos. I have 6 external hard drives that I use that are connected to my computer. If I were to have all of those images on my computer, my computer speed would be soooooo SLOW!
If you have ever lost a set of images from a shoot because you didn't back them up is devastating! So take my advice and don't be that person. It is crucial to backup your files and keeps everything safe and sound.
Even though you may not be a photographer like me, having tons of files, photos, videos, music, documents, etc on your computer will make the running time slower and take up all the storage that should be left for your computer to hold software. Plus this way they won’t get lost in the shuffle!
By transferring your files to an external hard drive you will be freeing up space on your computer’s internal drive so that your MAC and PC can get moving again.
Think of an external hard drive like One big USB stick.
It holds all of your content there so that you can make room for your computer to think and have a normal loading/processing time. Here are the external hard drives I recommend:

Have more than one Hard drive? Get a HUB!
If you have more than one hard drive and are like me and use them all often, you might also consider using a HUB. A HUB will connect all of your hard drives to your computer at one time so you can avoid constantly switching between hard drives in one USB computer connection. This one here can connect up to 7 USB cables and power 3 USB devices at the same time! Plus the data transfer is also super fast when transferring photos, music, and videos up to 5Gbps. This is the exact one I have and love.
Who doesn’t love storage right?!! Your computer will run faster and your desktop will be clean! The external hard drives I have are mostly 4 TB’s but I need a lot of storage because one RAW image can be around 23 MB. Even though you may not have tons of RAW photos like me, I suggest you at least start with a 2 TB external hard drive. That way it can last you a couple of years of storage space. You can also get multiple hard drives to separate your multi-passionate creative talents/biz like me. And a HUB makes it so much easier to streamline your efficiency too so that you always have access to every external hard drive at once without having to keep switching between them. BINGO!
Tech doesn’t have to be scary but it’s necessary to keep up with the times. So go forth and spring clean your computer and make room for more creativity!
